Sara's Cure
The importance of tissue donation

Sara’s Cure has partnered with the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard to assist in creating the tools needed to study Clear Cell Sarcoma. Research on CCS requires tissue and cell lines to be available for testing new treatments. The Broad is at the forefront of new technology to create these needed research tools. It is very difficult to obtain fresh surgical tissue with such a rare disease and so few patients, but you can change that.  The Broad needs fresh Clear Cell Sarcoma tissue to create a sustainable resource.

*You can make a difference and support this research by donating excess tumor tissue from an upcoming surgery.*

It is easy and only takes a few minutes of your time to fill in an online consent form at Pattern.org and they will handle all the arrangements, working with your surgical institution. There is no cost or any additional effort on your part to participate! Due to several regulatory issues involved with transporting living tissue across the border, Pattern.org can only accept tissue from the contiguous U.S. currently.

If you don’t have a surgery date yet you can still sign up on Pattern.org and leave the date blank. Once you have consented online, if for any reason the Broad is unable to accept the sample Pattern.org will notify you.

Please feel free to contact us or Pattern.org with any questions. Thank you for taking the time and for supporting these Clear Cell Sarcoma research initiatives.

“Anyone who can connect with Sara’s Cure and be able to make sure that their tissue is processed appropriately from the beginning, that’s even better. It’s Invaluable” – Kevin B. Jones, MD

Where will your tissue be going?

When you donate your tissue, it is taken to a lab at the BROAD Institute.

Warrior Stories

in this together

What makes Sara’s Cure the organization it is today, is our patients. Every story we have not only helps us learn about Clear Cell Sarcoma, but it brings us together. If we can get as much information in one place as possible, we will find a treatment and cure for this disease.
